Selling my First Ever Painting :)

Today there is a bare spot on my dining room wall where this painting used to be. No, it was not stolen nor is it somehow missing and cannot be found. I in fact sold it. To a stranger. That's right, I sold my first  painting! It wasn't even to a kind friend who was just trying to make me feel good about my painting. A total stranger from South Carolina is now the owner of my humble masterpiece. I'm not gonna lie, it feels pretty nice, especially since I took a peek at her Etsy profile and browsed through some of her favorite paintings from other sellers--WOW! They were REALLY good! I am still a little awe-struck, but definitely pumped to start focusing more on my paintings! :)

Zippered Pouches :)

I recently just listed these way cute zippered pouches in my shop. They are so fun to make and they are so functional as well. I know my purse is usually a chaotic mess and so disorganized most of the time and these pouches are so helpful with the problem. I use them  to hold a few cosmetics or coupons. I also use them to hold art supplies or craft supplies. The are perfect for traveling and holding toiletries. I keep one in my son's diaper bag to hold medicine and such. These pouches also make sweet little gifts for friends, moms, sisters, teachers, etc for any occasion really. Polka Dot Goodies

I purchased some green and white polka dot material the other day that has brought about some fun projects! I have been meaning to do something different about a diaper bag for Elisha for some time now. He has been using a smaller sized backpack and I have been wanting something a little cuter. Yesterday I was able to use some of the polka dot material as well as some coordinating plaid to create a much cuter diaper bag!

Today I used a lighter, more mellow green polka dot material and some light yellow floral print material to create these goodies:

I am really enjoying all of these sewing projects. It's kind of therapeutic in a way. Getting an idea and being able to create it is just fascinating. This week I am going to be busy keeping up my inventory and also filling a  request custom order. I am pretty excited about that and can't wait to get started! :)

New Etsy Listings! :)

I have listed a couple more items on my Etsy shop! It's really tempting to keep these things! I'm definitely going to have to make myself a white vinyl pleated bag like the one shown here! I am really enjoying all of these sewing projects and listing them on my own little shop.  :)

Well, I've finally done (or started doing) what I've been meaning to do for quite some time now: I've set up a shop on Etsy.com and I am selling some hand crafted goodies! :) At the very bottom of my blog is my Etsy shop gallery and my shop link is all over this blog LOL. I am really excited about this! I'm not even concerned with making money on the side really, I just love to sew and paint and well, I can't keep everything I make! :)

Fun Sewing Projects

I've recently started picking back up an old love: sewing! I'm learning how to do new sewing projects and really having a lot of fun with it. I used to sew a lot in high school and really enjoyed learning new techniques and projects in my Family and Consumer Science class. It feels good to be sewing again, I just really enjoy creating! :)

Baby Room Decor

These are some pictures that I designed and put together for my son's room. We were going for a sort of vintage animal theme. I made the pictures using animal cutouts that I drew up and cut out myself out of different colored and patterned scrapbook paper. This was a really fun project! :)

Okay, so I've started this blog to kind of journal my art. I love bold colors and patterns and exploring different ways of displaying them on canvas, glass bottles, or even in my decorating style around our home. I'm not usually one to blog about anything, but art is one of my passions, so I wanted to create a space just for it. That's all. :)
